Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) Pondicherry

CENTAC is Centralised Admission Committee made by Government of Puducherry to conduct the exams for the admission in various colleges and institutes attached with Government of Punducherry. Admission in B.Tech., B.D.S., B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Pharm., B.Sc. (Nursing), B.P.T., B.Sc. (MLT) LL.B. (Five year integrated course – Semester Pattern) degree course is done by the exam of CENTAC.

The process to get the admission is to first submit the admission application form to CENTAC and the when called attend the counseling for the course at the notified time by CENTAC.

Important Dates of CENTAC :

receipt of admission applications at CENTAC office is 23.06.2008 up to 5.00 p.m.

in case of delay in the declaration of the qualifying examinations results i.e. after 23.06.2008 by any HSC Board, the candidates from that Board should not wait for the result, but submit the admission applications at CENTAC office on or before last date.

Last date for submission of supplementary examination + 2 mark sheet to the CENTAC office is 06.08.2008, 5:00 PM

The Merit Lists (separate for B.Tech., B.Pharm., and all other Biology-based Degree Courses) will be displayed on the notice board of the Office of CENTAC, located at Pondicherry Engineering College (PEC) campus. Selection of Candidates for admission to all the Degree courses will be based on the Merit lists prepared by CENTAC, based on the marks arrived at by adopting the ‘method of normalization’. Ranking of the candidates will be done based on the ‘normalised marks’ (rounded-off to three decimal places) arrived at, to a base of 200.

Counselling for all the above degree courses will be conducted at the Office of the CENTAC, Chemical Engineering Block, Pondicherry Engineering College (PEC), Pillaichavady, 

Puducherry - 605 014.

How to get application form from CENTAC

Application forms can also be obtained by post by sending a request to ‘The Convenor’ CENTAC, Pondicherry Engineering College Campus, Puducherry- 605 014, along with two self-addressed slips (neatly typed or hand written) and a crossed demand draft drawn in favour of The Convenor, CENTAC, payable at Puducherry, for Rs.165/- [for SC / ST Candidates Rs.90/-].
